Sustainability in housebuilding – DFH annual meeting

von myGEKKO

The main subject of the last annual meeting of the Deutschen Fertighaus Holding (DFH) was the sustainable and innovative housebuilding. Therefore we were particularly pleased to take part at the event. In total, about 600 specialists attended the conference.

The experts’ group discussed the sustainability in housebuilding. The main topics were:

  • the current trends of sustainable building
  • the benefits offered by certified houses
  • innovative house concepts which promote sustainability in the construction sector

“We have made it our business to develop future-oriented housing concepts which offer solutions for the environmental, social and economic challenges of our time”, explained Thomas Sapper, chairman of the executive board of DFH, in his introductory speech. “Our aim is to realize houses able to comply the criteria of sustainable building now and in the future”.

The conference, attended by about 600 people – including sales consultants and representatives of suppliers and partner companies – provided an updated overview of innovative and sustainable building in Germany. Many lectures and panel discussions, held by scientists of several universities, members of the “Präsidium der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen e.V”. (DGNB) and other renowned experts,  highlighted the topic “sustainability” in his different aspects.

Another issue approached during the DFH annual meeting was the appropriate interaction between innovative technology in modern homes. The DFH partner companies myGEKKO and E3/DC presented their solutions for the areas building automation, energy storage and electromobility. The tangible vision: In just a few years time, the largely autarchic house will represent the standard for forward-looking builders.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the scientists of the TU Darmstadt and the FH Aachen presented the research and building projects developed in collaboration with DFH.
